Derek Chappell said: "We recognise that the cost of sponsorship of an Academy building restricts the number of individuals who can support us and for that reason we have developed an opportunity for an individual or charitable or corporate organisation to sponsor a class of 30 children.

"The annual cost of running a single class of 30 children is some £70,000 and we hope that this lower level of sponsorship will prove attractive to a wider audience and of course there are significant tax advantages available with this type of support.

"We are providing the sponsor with a unique opportunity to change the lives of 30 children in one of the most impoverished countries in the world and the sponsor will receive regular updates from us on the progress made by the children in the class that is supported."
